A good field of 44 players took to the fairways on Sunday for a single Stableford event for the final round of the Ellem Family Consistency Trophy and as with the previous rounds the scores were very close. The best round of the day was 21pts shared by Dave Tilley and Gary Reynolds closely followed by Damien Blair with 20 and Robbie Strevens, Wilson Burns, Charles Doggett and Dally Clark all with 19. There were four Waterboy memberships taken out on Sunday that I know about. Dave Lynch on the 1st, John Corrigan 7th and John Blanch and Terry Shinn both on the 9th. No doubt someone will come forward next week with other names to be added. There was a new Local rule enacted by the Committee at their meeting on Sunday and it is as follows. Any player that throws a golf club in anger with be suspended from all games run by the Westlawn Golf Club for a period of two weeks. The act of throwing the club should be reported to a committee member as soon as possible by the player marking the offender’s card on the day. Next Sunday is our annual trip to the Iluka course and the bus will leave the GDSC carpark at 7am SHARP. The committee will organise a draw for partners on the bus. There will also be chicken and champagne to partake in before tee off at 8.30am. Sunday November 26 will be a 4BBB Stroke event. Starters will be T Ord and J Blanch with D Tasker to handle the results. — Dave Lynch
