HAPPY New Year ev­ery­one! Didn’t it come in with a bang? Here’s hop­ing you and your plants sur­vived and set­tled.

Our first meet­ing of the year is on Satur­day, Jan­uary 20 at the Pres­by­te­rian Church Hall, Church Street, Ma­clean.

Our speaker this month, mem­ber Beth Or­gan, will be shar­ing her in-depth knowl­edge, so do come along and gain from this.

Or­chids Plus has plants to sell too. See Peter.

Plants are benched by 1pm; the meet­ing be­gins at 1.30pm af­ter the judg­ing. Lucky door and raf­fle prizes are in­cluded, plus af­ter­noon tea.

At our Novem­ber meet­ing, 97 plants were benched.

Both Judges’ Choice Orchid and Pop­u­lar Vote went to Brian Don­aghy’s golden Pha­laenop­sis Bed­ford Kaiser King x I’Hsin Sun­flower.

Judges’ Choice Flower win­ner: Neil and Carol Camp­bell’s Gla­di­oli, while Pop­u­lar Vote went to Sue King’s Cac­tus.

The fol­low­ing Satur­day on Novem­ber 25, we all en­joyed our end of year club party at the home of pres­i­dent Terry Bird and wife Penny for a feast, friend­ship and fun.

Congratulations Ken Woods for win­ning the in­tro­duc­tory work­shop quiz, and to Spring Show win­ners who picked up their en­graved tro­phies.

Pres­i­dent Terry thanks all mem­bers and sup­port­ers for ac­tive con­tri­bu­tion of good­will and cheer, for our shared in­ter­est in na­ture’s awe­some and var­ied beauty, and wishes you a healthy and happy 2018.
