Jail time for golf stab­bing

A VIC­TO­RIAN man has been jailed for drunk­enly stab­bing his mate dur­ing a game of golf.

Matthew McKay, 31, and two friends had been drink­ing be­fore go­ing to Broad­ford Golf Course in Au­gust 2017.

The trio played a few holes but a drunk McKay was dam­ag­ing the greens and his friends Si­mon Mudd and Shaun Peter­son chas­tised him.

McKay stormed off and re­turned with a knife, which he drove into Mr Mudd’s thigh.

McKay was sen­tenced to one year and eight months in jail. Mr Mudd has per­ma­nent nerve dam­age in his leg.
