Mother to many wins
A 78-YEAR-OLD woman who was left to raise five children when she was widowed in her 30s has been named NSW Mother of the Year after giving more than 50 foster kids a home, while working two jobs.
For the past four decades, Noelene Lever has provided a haven for children in need.
Ms Lever, from Forster, was yesterday named NSW Barnardos Mother of the Year, honoured for her lifelong commitment to caring for children.
“There is no way I could let a child go without,” she said in a statement.
