Get back to na­ture, quite lit­er­ally, in 2017 with earthy tones and tex­tures such as ter­ra­cotta and nat­u­ral stone.

But in­stead of the 90s ter­ra­cotta tile look, mod­ern styles will be matte and rus­tic and used mainly in tran­si­tional ar­eas be­tween in­doors and out or in the bath­room.

It is in­dica­tive of the “global no­mad’’ trend we’ll see in in­te­ri­ors next year.

“Think Aztec mo­tifs, In­dian block prints and tra­di­tional African hand­crafts,” says Jess from Tem­ple & Web­ster.

“Th­ese will be used to add tex­ture and depth to oth­er­wise neu­tral and min­i­mal spa­ces.”
