Houses designed for entertaining come into their own when guests come to stay.

State sales manager for Eden Brae Bill Hawie says designs like the Kent 25 (below) offer easy movement between the kitchen, dining and living areas.

While some come with secondary master bedrooms, ideal for hosting guests, most new designs have more than one living area for a bit of time out. Bill says a separate living area or generous guest bedroom can offer some valuable respite for all.

“Guest accommodation has come a long way,” he says. ”Now you can integrate a guest bedroom into the design so finishes are comparable with the rest of the house.”
