TRACKSIDE FASHION’S BLOOMING

The Daily Telegraph (Sydney) - - The Everest - ALISON STEPHENSON

FUN, flirty and floral frocks are the favourites in the fashion picks at Royal Randwick today.

With no set rule on dress length at the Australian Turf Club, shorter styles and ontrend minis are set to be trackside winners at the TAB Everest.

While the dress codes of our British racing counterparts at the prestigious Royal Ascot forbid frocks that sit above the knee, Royal Randwick allows a more relaxed approach to racewear.

Members are simply asked to avoid wearing “garments which show midriff, leggings worn as pants, torn or ripped clothing” and inappropriate footwear or jackets such as windcheaters, denim and tracksuit tops.

From a trend perspective, Myer ambassador model Jennifer Hawkins told The Saturday Telegraph that florals are set to be a feature this Sydney spring carnival.

“I’m loving the florals this season, it’s a lot of floral on floral,” the regular racegoer said. “The beautiful crowns and headbands are also on trend.”
