A MAN work­ing on the Black­town Hospi­tal up­grade was taken to West­mead Hospi­tal yes­ter­day af­ter­noon af­ter fall­ing 3m onto con­crete at work.

Med­i­cal staff from the hospi­tal were quick to as­sist the 29-year-old man, who was suf­fer­ing a se­vere head in­jury.

He was in­tu­bated at the scene and placed in an in­duced coma, be­fore he was flown to West­mead Hospi­tal by Care-Flight. He re­mains in a se­ri­ous but sta­ble con­di­tion.
