THE fa­ther of an 18-year-old wa­ter polo star who died af­ter a one-punch at­tack has called for more to be done to stop sense­less vi­o­lence af­ter his son’s killer was sen­tenced to seven years in jail. New Zealan­der Arm­strong Re­nata, 23, faced the Bris­bane Supreme Court yes­ter­day, hav­ing pleaded guilty to a count of un­law­ful strik­ing caus­ing death over the Jan­uary 2016 as­sault of Cole Miller. Jus­tice He­len Bowskill de­scribed the For­ti­tude Val­ley in­ci­dent as “cow­ardly”.
