THANKS BUT THAT’S BRIT FOR LAMBIE
HIGH-profile crossbencher Jacqui Lambie has departed the Senate after admitting she is a dual British citizen. However, she also hinted that she could make a comeback by contesting a by-election if Tasmanian Labor MP Justine Keay is found to also be ineligible to sit in Parliament.
In a tearful address to the Senate yesterday, Ms Lambie said she had “worked hard to be a voice for those who don’t get much of a voice”. She is likely to be replaced by Jacqui Lambie Network candidate Steve Martin, but said she would consider running against Ms Keay.
“You can’t keep a bloody Lambie down,” she said.
An emotional Jacqui Lambie makes her final address to the Senate.
