No time to laugh but MPs leave us too weak to weep

The Daily Telegraph (Sydney) - - Letters -

The impasse associated with the dual-citizenship fiasco and the Senator Dastyari matter are beyond ridiculous.

In relation to the dual-citizenship matter, the leaders of the major parties have added another layer of stupidity by deploying tit-for-tat referral tactics to the High Court.

These matters are turning our leaders into a public laughing-stock.

The electorate has lost confidence in the parliament in general and its leaders in particular, and their ability to function in the national interest.

Parliament has been an abject failure in its duty to Australia to provide “services of a high standard”. Meanwhile, the nation is in hiatus. The general public deserve much better. Where is the Governor-General? DJ Preece, Wollongong
