Get priority right in 2018

The Daily Telegraph (Sydney) - - Letters -

Of course, same-sex marriage is important, but surely it was not the biggest issue facing Australia?

If the Turnbull government, and the Parliament generally, had devoted the same amount of effort to the real issues confronting Australia that it has invested in the same-sex marriage and the citizenship debacles, just imagine what could have been achieved for Australia.

Perhaps we would be actually reducing debt and deficit, implementing sensible energy policies that include cheap coal, eliminating renewable subsidies and abandoning the economydestroying Paris Agreement, and restoring freedom of speech.

So please, Prime Minister, would you now focus on the real issues, not just the popular ones? Bob Partington, Wahroonga
