What victories hide

The Daily Telegraph (Sydney) - - Letters -

Luckily, we have won the first two Tests and the Australian batting line-up has escaped the close scrutiny of selectors.

I suggested before this series started, that the last six in the lineup would outscore the first five. Well, after three completed innings, it goes something like this. 197/125 186/243 56/78. Pretty impressive stuff.

If the Australian batsmen aren’t on a “road” or confronted with a ball that swings, this is what you get.

It’s been like that for many seasons now. Richie Blanch, Newcastle
