ASEAN net is on track

The Daily Telegraph (Sydney) - - News -

TOP government and police officials have backed tough security measures which will be imposed on Sydney ahead of this weekend’s ASEAN summit.

As revealed in yesterday’s Daily Telegraph, security will tighten as Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull hosts Southeast Asian leaders on Saturday and Sunday for a special summit to discuss regional security, economic ties and counter-terrorism measures.

NSW Police Minister Troy Grant said the beefed-up police powers “strike the right balance’’ between effective policing and not disrupting residents and visitors to the Harbour City this weekend.
