Green energy economics putting us in the red

The Daily Telegraph (Sydney) - - Letters -

Our federal parliamentarians profess to be smart and intelligent and yet these people from both parties want ever more renewable energy for Australia.

They have their signatures on the Paris agreement, and yet other countries reneged on signing to carry on polluting the atmosphere with many times more than Australia’s output.

The government has ripped us all off for around $3 billion in the past 10 years (“The $3b green energy rip-off”, 10/8).

How much of that has been channeled into renewables rather than coal-fired power, which is the cheapest?

I honestly believe that these politicians think they are up there sitting next to all the world leaders.

Kevin07 instilled that feeling in the Labor Party and it has rubbed off on Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and others. Terry Malm, Blacktown
