Sexy Eyes has that look of victory

PRICE CHECK

DYSLEXIC (race 7) has been a big firmer since markets were first framed on Wednesday. She looked overs when initially rated at $6.50 but she has been heavily backed since and is now into $2.50 favouritism. Her comeback run on a wet track in The Nivison was full of merit and she is ready to win back on a good surface today.

TRIAL POINTERS

EXHILARATES (race 1) was a rare Godolphin purchase at the Magic Millions Yearling Sale on the Gold Coast in January selling for $600,000. Bred by Greg Perry who also bred Atlantic Jewel, Exhilarates is a blueblood of epic proportions being by two-time champion sire Snitzel out of the Blue Diamond winner Samaready. Looked the part when a close second in her one and only trial at the Randwick heats on October 30. MONTRACHET (race nine) is a lightly-raced mare by Fastnet Rock trained by Team Hawkes. She is a four-year-old now but has only had the three starts all of them very good. She won her maiden at Rosehill on April 2 this year then 26 days later went to Hawkesbury to the stand-alone and ran a highly creditable fourth to Sambro. Tommy Berry rode Montrachet in her trial at Rosehill eight days ago when she hit the line well under her own steam in fourth spot, two lengths from the winner. Looks to have come back in great order and bound to in the firing line..

WORK WHISPERS

SEXY EYES (race 4) is a Chris Waller trained mare who wears the same colours as champion mare Winx. Sexy Eyes was runnerup at her first two runs this preparation before her emphatic three-and-a-quarter lengths win in a 1400m Bemchmark 88 race at Royal Randwick the same day as Winx won her fourth Cox Plate. Sexy Eyes should be even better suited at 1500m and is of course racing at home today. The mare worked on the inside grass on Tuesday over 1000m in 1:9.20s, last 400m in 24.30s. GOLDFINCH (race nine) is a very fast mare who was taken on in front at Randwick last start but did an admirable job to hold on for fifth spot, just over three lengths from the winner, Single Bullet, who swept home off the quick tempo. Goldfinch will surely lead on the fence again today given that she has drawn barrier 2. Deanne Panya knows this mare well. Goldfinch galloped on the A Grass at Warwick Farm on Tuesday over 1000m in 1:11.32s with a quick 22.24s last 400m, 11.1s last 200m.

Deanne Panya will ride Goldfinch at Rosehill today.
