Sally Snow (TAB): “I think Sky Boy is one of the better bets on the Rosehill card. The horse is racing extremely well this preparation – with two very dominant wins in its last two starts. Most recently it beat home Savacool who came out and won impressively at Flemington on Oaks Day. It will get favours from the good draw and is clearly the one to beat.’’

Glenn Munsie (TAB): “Sky Boy has to be the one you come back to here, no matter how many times you look at the race. Defeated Savacool at Randwick and she won impressively at Flemington on Thursday. Stays in a BM 78, travels close to speed from soft draw and is still on the way up. Short, but very sweet.’’

Grant Palmer (bookie): “Sky Boy opened odds on in the market and I have not been able to write a bet on him. I think Merovee who steps out to the 2000m could challenge him and I thought Highway looked value at the double figure odds.’’ Terry Kennedy (Sky Sports Radio): “Sky Boy is very tight in the market and I prefer Miss Shanti at the big odds on offer. She won last start on the Kenso track and the extra distance should suit.’’ Verdict: Sky Boy

Sally Snow (TAB): “I think US Navy Flag represents the best value here. You can put a line through it’s Everest run as it simply didn’t handle the wet track and last start in the Manikato it got well back and ran into trouble late.’’

Glenn Munsie (TAB): “Like the value around Kementari here. Blind Freddy would have seen him at the Valley in the Manikato. I think he is best as a sprinter and gets his chance here at nice odds. Spright is a massive chance at huge odds.’’ Grant Palmer (bookie): “Redkirk Warrior was disappointing in England but he is much better suited here. His form reads four starts for three wins over the 1200m at Flemington. Those wins include beating the likes of Redzel and Merchant Navy. Looks great value.’’ Terry Kennedy (Sky Sports Radio): “Stay on the Kerrin McEvoy express, all stops to the winning post with Redzel, the back to back Everest winner was terrific in a recent trial and is clearly the top pick. Pierata has also trialled well and is more than capable of an upset.’’ Verdict: Kementari R8: MACKINNON STAKES (2000M)

Sally Snow (TAB): “In a race where you could make a case for almost every runner, I have to be with Latrobe here. After scratching him from the Cup, this appears to be a winnable race. With its European form being somewhat franked . With great runs from Rostropovich and Marmelo in the Cup, it should get the perfect run from gate 3.’’

Glenn Munsie (TAB): “If the wraps are right then Latrobe has to be right in this. Dodged the Melbourne Cup as it may have come just a bit ‘too early’ for him. Irish Derby winner defeating Rostropovich and his runs here have been good.’’

Grant Palmer (bookie): “Blair House had a fantastic tussle with Benbatl in the Caulfield Stakes. Benbatl then ran 2nd to Winx in the Cox Plate and that reads as great form for this race. Charlie Appleby has an incredible strike rate in Australia and I expect it to continue here.’’ Terry Kennedy (Sky Sports Radio): “Strange there’s no Cox Plate runner in the field, I’m on the Charlie Appleby bandwagon. Blair House looks a standout, he pushed Benbatl in Caulfield Stakes and Benbatl than pushed Winx ’’ Verdict: Blair House
