Council facilitates free grant writing workshops
Not-for-profit organisations will have the opportunity to attend a free workshop that will focus on fundraising and securing grant funding.
Federation Council will host the workshops in Corowa and Urana on Tuesday, November 29.
Federation Council Administrator Mike Eden said he was encouraging residents to attend the workshop which would also cover round two of the Stronger Communities Fund.
“The workshops will provide an opportunity for groups to hear more about the Stronger Communities Fund, including some tips for success with their applications,” Mr Eden said.
“Council is pleased to be running these workshops to support groups in their efforts to secure funds for great community projects and initiatives.
“Designed to be interactive, participants will leave the workshop with a range of ideas, tools and strategies for success.”
Workshop facilitator Deanne Drage has been engaged by council to coordinate the Stronger Communities Fund and has extensive experience working with community groups to build their business for better outcomes with evidenced based planning.
Deanne is also a founding Director of Albury Wodonga Regional FoodShare and in 2015, successfully led the team which raised more than $127,928 using best practice fund raising principles.
Mr Eden said Deanne has a wealth of knowledge to share with those who attend the workshop.
“We think people will find this to be a very valuable session,” he said.
The workshops will be held on Tuesday, November 29 from 9.15am – 12.30pm in Corowa and from 4.30pm – 7.30pm in Urana.
Further information about the workshop, including what participants can expect to learn, can be found by visiting council’s website.
