Carpe Diem fundraiser

Seven­teen mem­bers of the Corowa Ro­tary Club at­tended the Carpe Diem evening at the Oddfel­lows Hall re­cently where they do­nated their usual din­ner money to men­tal health projects.

The Corowa Ro­tary Club raised more than $600 through their Hat Day, Lift The Lid fund rais­ers and the Carpe Diem Night.

This money was do­nated to Aus­tralian Ro­tary Health in sup­port of the Lift The Lid cam­paign, which aims to raise funds to sig­nif­i­cantly in­crease re­search into men­tal ill­ness preven­tion.

Corowa Ro­tary Club Pres­i­dent Mered­ith Miegel was able to speak to John Wood af­ter the Carpe Diem pro­duc­tion to tell him of their suc­cess­ful fundrais­ing ef­forts.

The staff of Miegels Phar­macy also as­sisted with the fundrais­ing by hold­ing a guess­ing com­pe­ti­tion with jelly beans in a jar.

La­dles of Love hosted a bar­beque on the night, with all pro­ceeds go­ing to­wards their meal voucher pro­gram.
