How­long signs and road­works

‘No Through’ signs are to be in­stalled at each end of Pell Street How­long and lo­cal po­lice will be re­quested to mon­i­tor non-com­pli­ance of heavy ve­hi­cle ac­cess through the streets of How­long.

The mat­ter arose at the traf­fic safety com­mit­tee in Corowa on Au­gust 29 with B dou­ble trucks get­ting trapped in the cul-de-sac at the end of Pell Street.

In other How­long news, foot­path link­ing sep­a­rate sec­tions of Kennedy Street has been pro­vided, as re­ported by coun­cil’s Direc­tor En­gi­neer­ing Nigel Sut­ton at coun­cil’s Oc­to­ber 18 meet­ing.

Foot­path con­struc­tion in Larmer Street be­tween Hod­dle and Bank Streets has com­menced. Jude Street – east of Sturt Street – has been grav­elled and sealed.

Kerb and gut­ter con­struc­tion and shoul­der widen­ing cre­at­ing 12 an­gle park­ing bays south of Hawkins Street has been com­pleted.
