Howlong signs and roadworks
‘No Through’ signs are to be installed at each end of Pell Street Howlong and local police will be requested to monitor non-compliance of heavy vehicle access through the streets of Howlong.
The matter arose at the traffic safety committee in Corowa on August 29 with B double trucks getting trapped in the cul-de-sac at the end of Pell Street.
In other Howlong news, footpath linking separate sections of Kennedy Street has been provided, as reported by council’s Director Engineering Nigel Sutton at council’s October 18 meeting.
Footpath construction in Larmer Street between Hoddle and Bank Streets has commenced. Jude Street – east of Sturt Street – has been gravelled and sealed.
Kerb and gutter construction and shoulder widening creating 12 angle parking bays south of Hawkins Street has been completed.
