The Cougars are up and charg­ing

The Corowa Cougars Rugby League Foot­ball Club held their An­nual Gen­eral Met­ting re­cently and Jannssen O’Mal­ley was elected as pres­i­dent in what will be his sec­ond term at the helm of the club.

Pe­dro Robert­son was elected vice pres­i­dent, Col Flem­ing elected trea­surer and Kelvin O’Mal­ley and Emma Webb were ap­pointed as joint sec­re­taries.

The re­main­der of those in at­ten­dance Daniel Webb, Kyle Cofield and Nikki Boyd were elected on the com­mit­tee.

Pres­i­dent Jannssen said the club was look­ing to build on last sea­son’s suc­cesses.

“We had a good year over­all fi­nan­cially last year and a heap of work was com­pleted at the clu­b­rooms,” he said.

“We are ex­cited to an­nounce that there will be more to come as we are the lucky re­cip­i­ents of a grant from Fed­er­a­tion Shire.

“We would like to ex­tend a big thank you to our lo­cal coun­cil as our club would strug­gle so much oth­er­wise.”

Mr O’Mal­ley said he was also look­ing for­ward to start­ing to work on the club’s play­ing team.

“We are look­ing to be­gin or re­cruit­ment on play­ers now,” he said.

“We would love to see lo­cal play­ers come out and have a run plus we’re look­ing at a ladies tag team to play each week.

“If there are any play­ers out there that would like to have a run at any stage, then please con­tact my­self on 0423 355 214 and you will be made most wel­come.”

The reg­u­la­tions are the same as last year with a slot limit mean­ing only fish be­tween 55cms and 75cms are le­gal to take.

Daily limit is two per an­gler with a pos­ses­sion limit of 4, for all reg­u­la­tions please check the DPI web­site.
