Angus is back on his bike

Corowa’s Angus Smith is ready to ride once again thanks to the generosity of the community.

Angus, 11, had his pushbike stolen just before Christmas and after weeks of waiting for it to be returned or found - without any luck - he thought all hope was lost.

Businessman Danny Allen heard of Angus’ plight and put together a fundraising raffle to help purchase a new bike for the youngster.

“Angus had his bike stolen by a heartless thief before Christmas and as soon as I heard I knew I had to do something to get him another,” Danny said.

“Thanks to the Corowa community we have been able to replace his bike and Angus now has a smile on his face.”

Danny offered heartfelt thanks to the community and all the businesses that supported the raffle.

He also thanked the Corowa Australia Hotel and the Corowa RSL Club for providing venues for ticket sales and the Cycle Station for donating a safety lock for Angus’ brand new bike.

The winners of the raffle were; first prize Doreen Hadley of Melbourne and second prize Terry Roach of Corowa.
