Great day for Sharks at Corowa Pen­nant

The Corowa Sharks Swim­ming club hosted their home pen­nant meet on Fe­bru­ary 5.

Nine clubs from the cen­tral di­vi­sion at­tended the meet, in­clud­ing nine­teen swim­mers from the Corowa Sharks.

Mia Wil­son, Tayah Wynne, Austin Ross-An­der­son and Max Har­vey all swam strongly in their first pen­nant.

Max placed in all of his events and Austin placed 3rd in his 100m freestyle. These are fan­tas­tic re­sults for first time pen­nant swim­mers.

Phoebe and Finn Os­borne, Stella and Archer Cop­polino and John Sch­nelle swam ex­cep­tion­ally well. Phoebe and Finn placed first in all of their five events.

Stella, Archer and John placed first in three of their events and John also placed sec­ond in two and Archer third in one.

Jedd Long­mire, Remy Long­mire, Ly­dia Ross-An­der­son, Tex Long­mire and Bridey Ry­land all placed first in at least one of their events and placed in oth­ers.

Olivia Ray placed sec­ond in her 100m and 50m breast­stroke and achieved two PBs.

Clodagh Blain placed sec­ond in her 100m freestyle and third in her 50m breast­stroke and achieved a PB in 50m freestyle.

Imo­gen Letch­ford placed in her 200m freestyle and 100m breast­stroke and achieved three PBs.

Han­nah Ry­land achieved a PB in 50m freestyle and 50m but­ter­fly and Daniel Ry­land achieved a PB in his 50m freestyle event.

Corowa placed 2nd with one of their 12 years and un­der re­lay teams and their 8x50m freestyle re­lay team placed 3rd.

Well done to all the swim­mers, great ef­fort, keep up the train­ing.

Thank-you to our won­der­ful coaches for be­ing there on the day and also to the Corowa Swim Cen­tre for hav­ing the pool at its best.

The last two weeks’ Ricky D’s pizza awards have gone to Tex Long­mire for his im­pres­sive im­prove­ment in his breast­stroke and but­ter­fly and also to Stella Cop­polino for her reg­u­lar train­ing and swim­ming achieve­ments.
