Butler leaves council
Federation Council’s Director Planning and Environment Adrian Butler ceased duty with council last Friday, May 26.
Mr Butler, 42, was the General Manager of Urana Shire Council immediately prior to its amalgamation with Corowa Shire Council to become Federation Council on May 12, 2016.
Upon amalgamation, he became acting Director Planning and Infrastructure and was chosen for the position’s permanent filling when all positions in the new Federation Council organisation structure were filled between last December and February.
Federation Council Administrator Mike Eden issued a press release saying council and Mr Butler had agreed his employment with council would end due to a redundancy package.
“Federation Council wishes Mr Butler all the best in his endeavours. Mr Butler has been a great contributor to the successful merger between Urana Shire Council and Corowa Shire Council and he will be greatly missed,” the statement adds.
In a farewell email sent by Mr Butler to his colleagues at Federation Council and provided to the Free Press he said, “thanks so much for making me welcome at the Corowa end and thanks to the northern end for all your help as well”.
“It felt very accepting walking into the Corowa office and depot and that says a lot about all of you,” Mr Butler wrote.
“All the very best with Federation, it’s a great business going from strength to strength.”
