Tourism Treasure Trail returns
The Federation Council Tourism Treasure Trail will return these school holidays, following the success of the inaugural trail last year.
Residents and visitors can trek their way around the Federation region, visiting many of the tourism hot-spots that feature on the trail.
Federation Council Administrator Mike Eden said the treasure trail initiative was an opportunity to showcase some of the great things to see and do in the region, as well as help drive visitation to the Corowa region.
“The trail encourages locals and visitors to get out and about this winter, support local business and celebrate what the region has to offer,” Mr Eden said.
“Last year’s inaugural event proved a great hit and council’s tourism team is really looking forward to again hosting this much-loved event.”
Participants are encouraged to tick off as many activities on the trail as they can and upload a photograph to Facebook or Instagram with a hashtag #visitcorowaregion for their chance to win one of six prizes valued at more than $1000.
Some of the prizes include accommodation packages, food vouchers and family movie packages.
Mr Eden said the trail would run throughout the NSW and Victoria school holiday period, which is from Friday, June 30 to Saturday, July 16.
“Residents will soon receive a Treasure Trail map in the post, which will certainly build up some excitement amongst school children in many local households,” he said.
“Copies of the map are also available at the Corowa Visitor Information Centre, any council office or library and participating businesses and attractions.
“Help us celebrate what’s on offer by promoting our region and sharing your experience on social media.”
Entry is free and photos can be uploaded anytime between Friday, June 30 and Saturday, July 16.
