Corowa Market held on Monday, June 26 with 10,200 lambs yarded, a decrease of 3,200 from previous week and 2,400 sheep yarded a decrease of 700 from previous week.
Numbers fell significantly, however they included 2,700 merino lambs.
Quality was back on last week and with the major domestic buyers absent prices were back to $5 to $10/head.
Some excellent heavy merino lambs made to $184/head.
Restockers weren’t active due to new season lambs not being too far away.
Light trade weight lambs made to $126 to $144, medium and heavy trades were mak- ing from $130 to $173/head to average 675c/ kg cwt.
Heavy lambs sold from $159 to $182 and extra heavy lambs sold from $181 to $190/head. Hoggets sold to $163/head. Numbers decreased in a mixed quality yarding of mutton and competition was lacking with a major exporter present but not buying.
Heavy crossbred ewes sold from $130 to $176, best merino ewes made $164, and merino wethers sold to $174/head.
