World Champ on board again

Aus­tralia’s most suc­cess­ful Olympic dis­tance triath­lete, Peter ‘Robbo” Robert­son will join Para-Triath­lete cham­pion Justin God­frey as a Yar­ra­wonga Mul­wala Mul­tisport Am­bas­sador again.

“It’s great to be back in Yar­ra­wonga Mul­wala, I just love the place and the at­mos­phere around the event,” Peter said.

Against the odds, Peter was Aus­tralia’s first ath­lete to qual­ify for the in­au­gu­ral Olympic triathlon team for the Syd­ney 2000 Olympics.

He has also won more ITU World Cham­pi­onships for Aus­tralia than any other male, with 3 golds and 2 sil­ver medals. In 2015 Peter was in­ducted into the ITU Hall of Fame.

Along with rep­re­sent­ing Aus­tralia at two Olympics (Syd­ney 2000 & Athens 2004), 2 Com­mon­wealth Games (Manch­ester 2002 & Mel­bourne 2006) where he won a bronze medal (Mel­bourne) and six world cham­pi­onship events.

From 2000 un­til 2008 Peter qual­i­fied for ev­ery Australian team and dur­ing this time he was Aus­tralia’s most dom­i­nant ath­lete on the in­ter­na­tional cir­cuit. His hard and fast at­ti­tude to­wards rac­ing was en­joyed by his nu­mer­ous fans and sup­port­ers.
