The Free Press (Corowa) - - FRONT PAGE -

The Gardens Round the Glen event was a huge success earlier this month.

The Rutherglen and District Garden Club would like to thank Des and Annette Sheridan, Gus and Jean Kingston, Michael and Trish Lethbridge, Corowa Tree of Life Community Garden, Wendy and Bill Chambers, Christine and Ian Grimes, Irina Webster and Val Buller - the owners of the gardens opened on November 5 for the Gardens Round the Glen.

The hard work and dedication of all the gardeners was reflected in the quality of the gardens which were all very well presented.

The fact that all the gardens were very different to each other was appreciated by the visitors and many compliments were received.

Lunches were well received as were morning and afternoon teas.

A great number of plants were sold from the club’s plant stall and thanks go to the hard working members manning that stall.

Thank you to all the Garden Club members who gave up their days to man gates.

Raffle winners included Andrew Irving in first place, Shirley Crosthwaite in second and Gwynneth in third. Congratulations to all winners.

Gus and Jean Kingston’s garden was among one of the open gardens at the Gardens Round the Glen event.
