Depot’s boundary realignment
The southern boundary of Federation Council’s works depot at Poseidon Road Corowa is to be relocated nine metres to the north of its current alignment.
A business owner adjoining the southern boundary approached council to realign the boundary to improve operations of his trucking business.
Council unanimously agreed to the request, which includes the applicant meeting all associated costs, on the motion of Crs David Long- ley and Andrew Kennedy at council’s monthly March meeting.
The costs include purchase of the land at the current advertised rate within the Corowa Airport Industrial Estate of $30 per sqm.
Cr Fred Longmire asked if there were any concerns about the change to the depot’s size, particularly as some of the requested area was to be used for staff carparking.
«No concerns,» Interim General Manager Adrian Butler responded. «We’ve been getting along for a number of years.
«The council depot is going towards a Master Plan. There’s been good discussion amongst council employees. We can make much better use of the site.»
