Fancy a year of adventure?

The Free Press (Corowa) - - FRONT PAGE -

Are you interested in spending a year overseas, experiencing a new culture, learning a new language, seeing new and exciting things and making lifelong friends from all over the world?

If you answered yes to any, or all of these questions then Rotary Youth Exchange is for you.

The Rotary Club of Corowa is looking for students from Corowa and surrounds to apply for its 2019 youth exchange program.

Applicants should be in years, 9, 10, or 11, be aged 15 or over and not have turned 17 at the time of departure, which will be early to mid-January 2019.

Students should also be making sound academic progress at school, have an interest in people and places, be outgoing and prepared to fit into new situations.

Of course, it’s not all one big holiday, students are expected to attend school while overseas, but this in itself can be an adventure, as they see and experience how another country educates its people.

To submit an expression of interest in the Rotary Youth Exchange Program go to www.ryea.org.au/apply-today.html

This website also has plenty of useful information about youth exchange, alternately if you would like some information about Youth Exchange closer to home, please email admin@corowarotary.org.au

For those students at Corowa High School interested in Youth Exchange, our current exchange student from Finland, Vera Toppara will be only too happy to share her experiences, as will Sarah Hughes, who has recently returned from a year in France.
