Our Commonwealth Games heroes

The Free Press (Corowa) - - FRONT PAGE -

Big congratulations to the Australian athletes competing in the recent Commonwealth Games, especially our local heroes.

The Commonwealth Games is a great representation of all the hard work put in by these elite athletes during their months and years of training in their chosen sport.

It’s a fantastic achievement for those selected to compete and truly amazing for those who bring home a medal like Corowa’s very own Josh Thornton.

There’s no doubt that local residents are excited to see Josh when he returns to Corowa later this week to celebrate with family and friends.

Mulwala shooter James Willett also did us proud by finishing 6th in the men’s double trap event, as did Rutherglen shooter Gaye Shale who finished seventh in the women’s double trap.
