Fireworks display needs sponsors
New Year’s Eve may seem a long way away, but major sponsors and sponsors in general are needed to ensure we can again put on a good show.
The Rotary Club of Corowa is again coordinating the funding of this event and collection tins are already out at local businesses as well as at its monthly market in Bangerang Park.
The New Year’s Eve fireworks display, costs around $20,000 to put on and we need major sponsors to come on board to help ensure it goes ahead on a scale we want.
Over the last three years Ricky D’s Pizza, Corowa RSL Club and Rivalea have been the major sponsors, contributing a very large proportion of the funds needed to put on the displays. Ricky D’s sponsorship commitment, of three years has finished and we have yet to have firm commitments from the RSL Club and Rivalea.
The last three years have seen great fireworks displays on John Foord Oval with the children’s fireworks display at 9:30pm and the main event at midnight.
Feedback of the last three shows has been very positive, with many visitors, saying they’ll be back next year and this can only be good for tourism and the local economy.
There is also the option for a naming rights sponsor should a business, or individual wish to contribute a significant enough amount.
If you discuss sponsorship please call John Law 0412 803 920.
Also, donations can be made directly into the Rotary Club’s Fireworks Account, BSB: 082-559 Account No: 246378185, or by cheque made payable to Rotary Club of Corowa Fireworks and mailed to PO Box 153 Corowa.
Businesses making donations of $500, or more will be listed on the donations meter at the bottom of Sanger St and thanked in the Free Press and individuals donating $100 or more will also receive the same recognition.
A video of the fireworks can be found on the Club’s website www.corowarotary.org.au/ projects-events/new-years-eve-fireworks .
