Wah­gun­yah Speed­way sea­son end­ing show this Sat­ur­day


This Sat­ur­day night Wah­gun­yah Speed­way will end its sea­son with the fi­nal event of the year, in its 60th sea­son the club con­tin­ues to cel­e­brate the big mile­stone and fea­tures for the Pro­duc­tion Sedans, Goul­burn Ovens Sedan As­so­ci­a­tion and the vis­it­ing Amca Na­tion­als will pro­vide spectacular rac­ing.

Nom­i­na­tions for the AMCA Na­tion­als in­clude Jeremy Moore, the cur­rent Aus­tralian cham­pion from South Aus­tralia, Paul Sul­li­van, the Aus­tralia num­ber two driver and Rod­ney Bas­sett all the way from Tas­ma­nia.

The Amca Na­tion­als are pow­ered by 350ci Chevro­let mo­tors and 253 Hold­ens and the par­ity is strong mak­ing the win a hard fought one for who­ever comes out on top.

In Pro­duc­tion Sedan rac­ing the Wah­gun­yah 1000 has at­tracted Ruther­glen racer Jack Milthorpe and two-time Aus­tralian cham­pion Steve Laid­law.

A host of Lee­ton club mem­bers will make the trip down with Danny Har­ri­son and An­drew Cun­ning­ham amongst them.

The big­gest field of cars is for the Goul­burn Ovens Sedan As­so­ci­a­tion with 20 of them nom­i­nated. Mark Gor­don is look­ing to se­cure a points vic­tory in a re­gional se­ries as well as win­ning the fea­ture event.

Vic­to­rian cham­pion Liam Powell and his brother will make things tough for him and Danny McCarten has the same in­ten­tion.

Ladies Open Sedans, Ju­nior Sedans, Stan­dard Sa­loons and Sports Sedans are all on the pro­gram.

Gate prices this sea­son are adults $25, fam­ily for two adults and three kids up to 16 years old $60, aged pen­sion­ers $15 & chil­dren from the ages 12 to 16 $15. Kids un­der 12 go free.
