The atmosphere and weather was great and a special thanks goes to Lowesdale Public School for such a great job of catering for the day.
As any club knows these events simply cannot run without great sponsors and trophy donors.
To those businesses and families we once again say a massive thank you for your support in season 2018 and may it long continue.
Kade Rowe won the Seniors best and fairest award from Tim Cooper and Callum Butler, Jake Boyle won the Reserves vote count while young gun Blayre Smith was a runaway winner in the Thirds.
As for the netball, it was fitting that the league rising star winner for Round 13, Erica Hanrahan, took out the best and fairest award for A Grade – it was a true indicator of her season.
Remy Longmire took out the best and fairest for the Under 12s this season, she truly had a great season and this was obvious with her taking out that age group’s league medal as well. Congratulations a great achievement Remy.
To all our trophy recipients, congratulations on the recognition for the season, you’re all very worthy winners.
We were also proudly able to announce all our netball coaches for season 2019. They are the following: A and B Grade – Daryl Howard, C Grade – Darrell Bush, C Reserve – Brooke Morris, Under 16 – Chelsea Ferwerda, Under 14 – Bec Longmire, Under 12 – Lana Rhodes and Under 10 – Belinda Richardson and Jess Thomas.
As a club we now look forward to season 2019 with great anticipation and excitement to see what we can achieve.
With Daryl Howard and his Fijian wife Sisi at the helm it will be a year of great development for all our players and our coaches. What they don’t know about netball, well it isn’t worth knowing.
They bring a huge amount of experience and success with them along with an equal amount of passion for the game.
The 2019 season is bound to be an exciting one.
We thank all current players and their families for supporting the club this season and remind you that it won’t be too long before you and new players get into a strong pre-season ready to do it all again.
The community spirit demonstrated by our committees and countless volunteers makes CDHBU such a great club to be a part of.
Two of our longest serving volunteers Julie Talbot and Ronda Munro were recognised for their efforts with the club awarding the hard working pair with life membership. Well done girls.
This Friday the club work at the Grain Growers Ball at Oaklands while the AGM is on Friday, October 19 and the 100 club draw is at the Newmarket Hotel on Saturday, October 20.
