Butterworth inquest drama

The Gazette (Derwent Valley) - - NEWS -

MORE dramatic statements have been made in the second week of inquest hearings on the disappearance of Lucille Butterworth at a Claremont bus stop on her way to a New Norfolk charity event in 1969.

Lance Russell Lesage told the inquest that he and a man called Bobby Lahey had picked up a woman at a bus stop on the Brooker Highway in the 1960s and later Lahey had told him to bury a body. The inquest also was told of another person of interest, John Gamon Lonergan, now dead, who had a record of sexual offences, some against women he picked up at bus stops.
