Reid springs into action to claim stableford
WITH lovely spring weather upon us and the course in great condition, there was some sensational scoring during Saturday’s stableford at the New Norfolk Golf Club.
The highlight of the day was the great score of 45 points by Gary Reid to take out Division 3.
Gary was followed by Ron Coleman, who also had a fantastic day to come in with 40 points.
In Division 2 Mike Smith was a clear winner with 43 points, with Brian Hall next best with 38 points.
Division 1 was closer, but Geoff Hack took the honours with 40 points, with Paul Wilton close behind with 39 points.
The Wednesday competition was also a stableford, and in the 18-hole event Bob Vaughan was a runaway winner with a tremendous 43 points, with the next best being Dallas Langridge with 41 points.
The nine-hole event was much closer, with Gary Reid winning the day with 23 points on a countback from Josh Watson.
