Lodge will host market
THE historic Hawthorn Lodge at Bushy Park will host its first-ever market and open gardens this weekend.
The 150-year-old cottage, which recently reopened as a bed and breakfast for the first time in five years last December, will hold the market and open gardens on Easter Saturday between 1pm and 5pm.
Hawthorn Lodge coowner Marie Bean said the idea had always been something they had planned.
“In the three months we have been at Hawthorn Lodge we have been amazed with the talent in this area,” she said. “Somebody mentioned that Hawthorn Lodge would be a great location for local producers, artists and crafts people to display and sell their wares in a market form. We have been wanting to have an open garden for a long time so we thought it would be good to combine the two.”
