End of line for local video shop
VIDEO City will close its New Norfolk branch at the end of the week.
The shop at 44 High St is having a closing-down sale to clear movies, games and boxed sets of DVDs after 20 years in business.
The closure is a sign of the times as DVD rentals are replaced by online services.
It leaves the Video City chain, which once had branches all over the state, with just three stores, at New Town, Kingston and Launceston.
Originally situated at 49 High St, the New Norfolk branch of Video City opened in September 1997. It moved in 2004.
LAST DAYS: Video City in High St, New Norfolk.
