Help with bushfire study

The Gazette (Derwent Valley) - - NEWS -

RESEARCHERS at the University of Tasmania would like to talk to people who live in areas of high bushfire risk and ask if they are financially protected in the event of a natural disaster.

It is part of a national research project called “When Disaster Strikes: Geographies of house and contents insurance”. The aim is to deliver information for residents in high bushfire risk areas, and help in bushfire preparedness and recovery, including the reduction of the personal, social and financial impacts of fires.

UTAS researchers want to find out what motivates people to live in areas of high risk, and what influences their choices about how they protect themselves against financial loss in the event of a natural disaster. Contributions will provide a greater understanding of the personal experiences and factors informing householder decision-making in risky areas.
