About 25 people attended the opening, which was followed with a barbecue lunch also attended by Central Highlands Councillor Richard Bowden.

The Bothwell Cricket Club will again be lead by president Joey Eyles.

The club will again field two teams in the Southern Cricket Association and has began training on Sundays.
