In­ter­ac­tive sci­ence show

ROLL up! Roll up! The Shell Ques­ta­con Sci­ence Cir­cus is com­ing to town.

The hands-on Sci­ence Cir­cus ar­rives in Tasmania this month, and will visit the Derwent Val­ley PCYC in New Nor­folk on Novem­ber 7 to stage pub­lic ex­hi­bi­tions of its “pop-up” sci­ence cen­tre.

Vis­i­tors of all ages can en­joy more than 40 in­ter­ac­tive sci­ence ex­hibits and watch spec­tac­u­lar shows as Sci­ence Cir­cus pre­sen­ters hold fire in their hands, lie on a bed of nails and lev­i­tate beach balls.

The cir­cus com­prises 16 post­grad­u­ate stu­dents study­ing a Mas­ter of Sci­ence Com­mu­ni­ca­tion Out­reach at the Aus­tralian Na­tional Univer­sity.

The Sci­ence Cir­cus will run from 4-7pm. Tick­ets are avail­able at the door. Ad­mis­sion is $6 for adults, $5 child/con­ces­sion, and $18 for a fam­ily. En­try is free for chil­dren aged un­der 5.
