Matt gets achiever nom­i­na­tion

FOR­MER Der­went Val­ley Coun­cil youth and com­mu­nity par­tic­i­pa­tion of­fi­cer Matt Hill has been named as a state fi­nal­ist for an ac­co­lade at the Tas­ma­nian Com­mu­nity Achiever Awards.

Mr Hill is one of four fi­nal­ists for the Heather and Christo­pher Chong Out­stand­ing Achiever Award, which recog­nises high-achiev­ing in­di­vid­u­als who ex­cel in their pro­fes­sion or cho­sen field of en­deav­our.

The award pays trib­ute to tal­ented and ded­i­cated high achiev­ers, in the ar­eas of sport, art, cul­ture, lead­er­ship, com­mu­nity in­volve­ment, academia, or ca­reer.

Mr Hill was nom­i­nated for the work he has un­der­taken in the Der­went Val­ley re­gion.

He re­cently left his po­si­tion at the coun­cil af­ter nearly 15 years, but is stay­ing in­volved in a num­ber of groups in the Der­went Val­ley.

The win­ner will be an­nounced at the gala pre­sen­ta­tion din­ner on De­cem­ber 1.
