STEM schol­ar­ships

AP­PLI­CA­TIONS have opened for a new pro­gram to help re­mote and re­gional stu­dents study science, tech­nol­ogy, engi­neer­ing, and maths.

Schol­ar­ships up to $18,000 are avail­able for 1200 stu­dents across Australia.

Prospec­tive vo­ca­tional ed­u­ca­tion, un­der­grad­u­ate and post­grad­u­ate stu­dents (Cer­tifi­cate IV to PhD) are el­i­gi­ble to ap­ply for a Ru­ral and Re­gional En­ter­prise Schol­ar­ship.

Tas­ma­nian Lib­eral sen­a­tor Jonathon Du­niam en­cour­aged lo­cal stu­dents to ap­ply.

The schol­ar­ships will op­er­ate from 2017-18 to 2020-21, with the first round of 600 schol­ar­ships be­ing awarded for the 2018 aca­demic year.

The first round of ap­pli­ca­tions closes on Jan­uary 8.
