TEA FOR TOAST
THE weather has been unpredictable in the Derwent Valley over the past month, but Glen Derwent is sure to be sizzling at its final event of the year next week.
Glen Derwent, at New Norfolk, is hosting a Midsummer Twilight Gathering on Friday, December 22.
Liz and Rob Virtue took over late last year, and have hosted regular events at the property since.
The summer gathering comes after successful winter and spring-themed events.
“We’re just continuing a series of seasonal gatherings to try and bring people together,” Mrs Virtue said.
“I’m very much looking forward to it.
“We just want to keep exposing the property so people can enjoy it with us.”
Music will be provided by DJ Mark and food and drinks by Fairy Flossie and Frothy Coffee.
“We’re just really thrilled with the support of the local community, and we are also getting a lot of support for our tea room from further beyond,” Mrs Virtue said.
“One of the reasons we’re inviting other food providers is so we can spend some time with some of the people who have supported us this year.”
Team member Ruth Montgomery is excited for the gathering.
“Liz always plans brilliant events and they’re always a great success,” Ms Montgomery said.
Entry is free for the event, which will run from 6-10pm.
