FALL FOR YOU
IT WAS A FAMILY AFFAIR WHEN THESE HIGH SCHOOL SWEETHEARTS SWAPPED VOWS SURROUNDED BY THEIR NEAREST AND DEAREST
THE COUPLE: Kendall Best, 31, travel agent and Andrew Carmichael, 33, carpenter
THE LOVE STORY: The pair met as teenagers in 2000. “When we officially met at a high school party he was sitting by himself and I was looking for a friend I had lost,” Kendall says. “My friend was nowhere to be found, so I spent the night hanging out with Andrew. He proposed to me in 2014. He took me to Byron Bay for the day then to Koonyum Range Retreat for the night where he proposed to me in the spa.”
THE BIG DAY: May 6 at Lake Front Bistro, Emerald Lakes, Carrara. The couple’s most memorable moments include seeing each other for the first time that day and watching their 16- month-old son walk down the aisle. “The best part was having all our loved ones there. A lot travelled from interstate and overseas to be with us.” Kendall’s highlight came at their portrait shoot. “Our photographer asked me to stand alone and Andrew to walk up to me and tell my why he married me. He caught me off guard with some of the most beautiful things he has ever said to me.”
THE SOUNDTRACK: A slow cover version of Elle Goulding’s Still Falling For You.
THE DRESS: Kendall’s gown was from Kitty Chen Couture’s Ivoire New York range. “I feel in love with the lace and beading, but most of all the two-tone colour – nude underlay and the ivory lace over the top. My shoes were by Badgley Mischka.”
