Phone a friend about new comedy

The Gold Coast Bulletin - Play Magazine - - TV -

IN the tradition of comedies such as The Office comes Phoneshop, a quirky new British comedy that follows the adventures of a group of phone sellers. Store manager Lance (Martin Trenaman) has worked for the Phoneshop Group for a long time. His friends, who run companies and own football clubs, think he’s wasting time, but Lance doesn’t – he sees it as a sanctuary from his demanding wife, Shelley. With top salesman ‘‘Little’’ Gary Patel in jail, the Phoneshop staff’s position of No. 1. salesperson is up for grabs. Competing for the title are Ashley (Andrew Brooke), Jerwayne (Javone Prince) – both sales professionals – and new recruit Christopher (Tom Bennett).

Phoneshop: Tuesday, 8.30pm, ABC2
