MOTORCYCLING en­thu­si­ast Charley Boor­man (pic­tured) em­barks on the sec­ond se­ries of his travel show By Any Means. The six-parter opens with Boor­man leav­ing Syd­ney with a huge biker con­voy in tow to trav­el­ling up the Pa­cific Rim through Aus­tralia, Pa­pua New Guinea, In­done­sia, the Philip­pines and Tai­wan, to fin­ish in Tokyo. In the first episode he hitch­hikes to By­ron Bay, ex­pe­ri­ences life with the Royal Fly­ing Doc­tor Ser­vice as they visit out­back clin­ics, be­fore he flies up to the Cape York Penin­sula on a marine sur­vey plane­and then heads to Pa­pua New Guinea. Dur­ing his jour­ney up the east coast of Aus­tralia he meets char­ac­ters, trav­els in a replica Spit­fire, at­tempts cat­tle mus­ter­ing on horse­back and gets bit­ten by a snake.
