Hannigan, 28, (pictured) admits they had to twist her arm for her to appear in the fourth American Pie film. The actress reprises her role as band geek Michelle in American Pie: Reunion, alongside the original cast including Jason Biggs, Tara Reid, Chris Klein and Seann William Scott. While she enjoyed working on the franchise, Hannigan was hesitant to return to the gross-out comedy. ‘‘They definitely had to twist my arm,’’ she says. ‘‘But when the script finally came in . . . they really did such a great job. It was really fun to go back in time.’’ She is now glad she decided to jump on the wagon for another instalment as she considers it her favourite of the series. ‘‘They just got it right this time,’’ she says. ‘‘They got the humour and they got the heart. I love that they didn’t shy away from actual issues that people in their 30s are going through.’’ The new movie deals with the sexual slump her character and her husband Jim, played by Biggs, encounter after becoming parents. ‘‘This is the reunion you would actually want to go to,’’ she says.
