M. 2007. Two young men and a girl help a woman with leukaemia in Brazil’s slums, discover one of her sons has been murdered by police in a drug operation and the other son is also a target. Despite the risks, they decide to help the woman and the child. Picaresque Brazilian drama highlighted by excellent performances. Caio Blat, Maria Flor.

MA. 2004. Gungho tabloid reporter John Leguizamo may have the scoop of a lifetime when a man he saves from an angry mob promises him information about a grisly serial killer. Torn between advising police and getting his name in lights is less a dilemma for Leguizamo than it would be for most reporters. Terrific tale. Damian Alcazar.
