Seven goes out for Re­venge in bid to win back view­ers

plans to take Re­venge on ri­val Chan­nel 9 in a bid to claw back view­ers. Since The Voice stepped up to the mi­cro­phone on Sun­day April 15, it has blasted ev­ery other net­work away in the rat­ings bat­tle – at­tract­ing about 2.5 mil­lion view­ers each night, or around dou­ble its clos­est ri­vals. A pro­mo­tional tour by Re­venge stars Emily Vancamp (pic­tured) and Josh Bow­man next week could not come at a bet­ter time for the Seven Net­work. Re­venge was the num­ber one new show for 2012 un­til The Voice came along. Af­ter be­ing heav­ily pro­moted Re­venge de­buted on Fe­bru­ary 13 with more than 2 mil­lion view­ers – and it still at­tracts more than 1 mil­lion watch­ers per episode in its 8.30pm times­lot. On Mon­day night, The Voice had more than 2.518 mil­lion view­ers to again eas­ily give it the top rat­ings spot. Com­ing in sec­ond was the Nine Net­work’s other re­al­ity show, The Block, with 1.43 mil­lion view­ers tun­ing in.
